SW Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced, strategic thinker who desires a management but still technical (hands-on) role in leading the Web and Apps team.

Description

The position is being filled for an international company providing advisory services in the area of residence and investments planning.

Your Responsibilities:

� Application Development Management

Manage 3 SW teams (12 people)
Manage the development of software products which fulfill the requirement specifications generated by either the internal group departments or by customers
Act as the technical liaison between the IT and users, assess their needs and thoroughly document enhancements required to sw products to meet their demands
Understand the timing of expected deliverables and build project schedules which meet the requirements
Define and document the product development process (this should include all steps in the process: specification, prototyping, software development, testing requirements, new control algorithm development, drafting technical documentation, etc.)
Produce the Application development schedule (Gantt chart form) for all activities to be undertaken in the calendar year including all milestones, project budgets
Define and select the tools to be used by the IS Development teams to perform their work (the tools used for software development and code management)
Create the system and define the process by which the IT responds to problem and reports
Develop and deliver technical presentations to stakeholders regarding IT App development capabilities (personnel, tools, resources, timelines), and IT near

term (12-24 month) product development plan

Determine the staffing requirements for the IS Development teams required to complete the assigned tasks. Ensure all assigned personnel receive the training necessary
Ensure that a reasonable % of his/her time is �booked� to active projects. The candidate is expected to materially contribute to the development process and may act as the project manager, software architect or lead software designer for several projects. This is a �working manager� position.

� Technical responsibilities

Lead the IS development teams to continually improve the SDLC environment
Ensure that patching and updates are carried out promptly and effectively
Work with the security team to evolve standards for hardware, software and security in the back-end environment

� Performance & Quality tasks

Develop and maintain guidelines, procedures and practices for all areas under managerial responsibility
Work with internal and third party teams to ensure actions are taken and completed to provide and improve services
Effectively deliver/manage Staff Management including recruitment, mentoring, training, target setting and performance assessment
Design SLAs for IS development, negotiate and regularly maintain them with IT Service Delivery Manager, business representatives and other stakeholder

Required Qualification:

At least 8 years of experience in developing software products
Familiarity with various SW programming techniques and software development tools
Managerial Experience - managing people, planning and organizing, stakeholder management, decision making, budgeting
Experience of managing 3rd parties and 3rd party delivered services
Experience in the management of services and support in a diverse environment, including situations of incident management, escalation procedures etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language (C1 and higher)
Engineering degree (computer or software engineering degree preferred)
Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, solid analytical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
self-motivation and able to take responsibility, able to manage and prioritize tasks and time efficiently, able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility including shift and out of hours working
Able to manage sensitive and confidential information

Details to Technical Qualification:

Ideal is experience in web development (PHP) or client-side development (JavaScript) or .NET development
Experience with techniques, languages and frameworks used for web development on Linux / Windows / mobile apps environments
Experience with database systems, in particular MySQL and MS SQL
Experience with Microsoft technologies, in particular CRM and SharePoint highly desired
Experience with topics in data protection such as website security, vulnerability scanning, cryptography
Passion in new technologies like Blockchain, AI, etc.

Bratislava (or home-office and some travels to the office in Bratislava 1 day/week or two weeks)
